The Six-Chamber Circular Artillery Oil Tanks Trolley (SCOT) is an advanced, purpose-engineered ground support equipment designed to modernise the oil handling and maintenance workflow for artillery and heavy weapon systems in the Indian Air Force and allied defence establishments. Built around a rotatable six-chamber drum architecture mounted on an aerospace-grade aluminium chassis, this trolley enables ground crews to load, rotate, drain, and replace artillery oil tanks with minimal physical effort and zero risk of spillage — replacing an otherwise labour-intensive, injury-prone, multi-personnel operation with a streamlined, single-operator process. Each chamber is individually lockable via precision brake discs, ensuring that oil tanks remain secured in any orientation during transit or maintenance. An integrated collection tray beneath the assembly captures expired oil completely, meeting environmental compliance standards even in forward-deployed conditions. The SCOT trolley is engineered for rugged operational environments — from well-equipped air bases to austere forward positions — and is designed to sustain over 10 years of active service with minimal scheduled maintenance.
02 / FEATURES
Six individually accessible chambers arranged in a circular drum configuration allow simultaneous handling of multiple artillery oil tanks. The drum rotates smoothly on self-locking bearings, bringing any chamber to the service position with minimal effort.
Each chamber is secured by a dedicated precision brake disc with locking pins. This dual-safety mechanism prevents accidental rotation during loading, draining, or transit, ensuring operator safety under all field conditions.
A sealed, full-width collection tray is built directly beneath the drum assembly. All drained expired oil is captured without ground contact, enabling clean, eco-compliant disposal and meeting defence environmental maintenance standards.
High-grade self-locking bearings support the rotational axis, delivering consistently smooth drum movement with zero routine lubrication requirements. These bearings are rated for the full 10+ year service life of the trolley.
The trolley frame is fabricated from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy — offering exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, natural corrosion resistance, and a lightweight footprint that allows one or two personnel to reposition the trolley across hangar floors, tarmacs, or uneven terrain.
Structurally rated to sustain a total load of 2000 kg across all six chambers, the SCOT trolley is built to handle the heaviest artillery oil tank configurations in the Indian Air Force inventory without structural fatigue or deformation.
Industrial-grade 360° swivel castor wheels allow the trolley to be manoeuvred in any direction across confined maintenance bays and open tarmacs alike, with minimal turning radius and smooth rolling performance even under full load.
